GISELLE ANGUIZOLA
For over a decade Giselle Anguizola has been an unmissable voice in the swing dance world. One of the top proponents of intricate, syncopated footwork, Giselle will breathe rhythmic life into any dance, class, or stage appearance. She has performed at New Orleans’ “Jazz Fest” with Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and she has been featured on the television show, “After the Catch”. Giselle also co-produced and danced in “Olio The Show”, a modern day, vaudeville production based out of San Diego. She is the founder of Girl Jam, the first dance festival franchise devoted to honoring women in jazz music and dance. She teaches and performs in New Orleans with the NOLA Jitterbugs and the Wild Dominos dance troupe. There she also serves on the board of the NOLA Jitterbugs Initiative, a non-profit that builds stronger community through social dance.
Giselle and Nathan teamed up at the end of 2010 to win the Slow Dance Division at Lindy Focus. Since that time, they have taught and performed in Canada and New York, receiving rave reviews: "...creative and inspiring classes! Definitely some of the best I've ever taken" --- "[the classes] were awesome! More helpful to my dancing than some privates I've had!" EVITA ARCE
Evita is a Swing dance phemon, known internationally for her endless energy, inspiring performances, and picturesque movement. Whether on stage or leading a class, her vibrant persona inspires on-lookers to dance and live in the moment. She has taught at Lindy Hop events from the US to the UK, Japan, Australia, Canada, and across Europe. As a performer, Evita has appeared on television, and on major stages in three continents. Evita danced the feature Lindy Hop role in multiple tours of the Broadway musical "SWING!". Evita is also a member of London-based company, Swing Xtreme, with whom she has performed at The Edinburgh Jazz Festival and the Lyric Theatre in London's West End.
Evita and Nathan have taught and performed extensively in the US and Europe. They are the featured dancers in the Weepies music video, "Be My Honey Pie." In Italy, last year, they completed their fourth live show with the Nine Pennies Big Band. They are partners in the award-winning vaudeville and Lindy team, The Killer Dillers, and they are both members of New York-based dance companies, The Vanaver Caravan, and RFX Swing.
DOMINIQUE BLOUIN
Dominique has been teaching dance for the past ten years. Speaking both English and French and having studied and taught a number of different dances including Salsa, Flamenco, Lindy Hop, Charleston and Balboa she is a much sought-after instructor and has been recognized among top dancers for her sense of style and grace on the dance floor. Dominique has made a name for herself in the North-American contest circuit, placing 1st in the Eastern Balboa Championships, placing 2nd at Camp Hollywood’s National Jitterbug Championships as well as the Canadian Swing Championships and 3rd at All Balboa Weekend Showcase division. She has taught locally and internationally in both Balboa and Lindy Hop with some of the best including Mickey Fortanasce, Max Pitruzzella , Marty Klempner, Bobby White, and Joel Plys.
Dominique and Nathan taught fast-dance workshops in Albany, New York, where they performed with the Boilermaker Jazz Band. They have also performed together in jazz dance reviews in Manhattan and Montreal. When working together, their expertise extends across an extremely broad range--from modern Balboa and Balboa group choreography, and the Shag dances, through Lindy, to Tap, Flamenco, and music performance!
EMILY VANSTON
Based out of NYC, Emily is a passionate teacher, performer, and social dancer, specializing in Lindy Hop and other swing-era dances. Emily has danced with such companies as New York’s Big Apple Lindy Hoppers, the Lindy Hop All-Stars, the Jivadeers, the Vanaver Caravan, General Mischief Dance Theatre, and the Palmer Arts Collaborative, and has earned 1st place wins in multiple Lindy Hop competitions. She has also performed at many NYC hotspots, including the Edison Ballroom, the Connelly Theatre, LaMaMa Theatre, Galapagos Art Space, Pier 54, SOL and Club 412. Recently Emily appeared on the ‘Great Gatsby’ episode of the hit reality show ‘My Fair Wedding.’ Emily teaches regular classes and private lessons at Dance Manhattan Studios in NYC and the Vanaver Caravan Institute in New Paltz, NY. When not teaching, Emily can usually be found in her natural habitat—on the dance floor!
Emily and Nathan have been teaching at Swing Out New Hampshire since 2008, where they are honored to be frequently appointed the post of Mama and Papa Bluebird. They have also combined forces to teach a six-week swing dance program at Poughkeepsie High School, under the auspices of a $25K Pepsi Refresh grant.
